On March 11th at 7PM, MCMA’s music therapist Dan Wenger will discuss Analytical Music Therapy, a model of music psychotherapy, via online presentation.
Dan is currently enrolled in the Analytical Music Therapy training at Molloy College. He will share its origins, theory, practice, and emerging concepts. There will be an opportunity for attendees to experience and apply music therapy concepts, as well as time to ask questions at the end of the presentation.
Analytical Music Therapy (AMT) is a music-centered psychoanalytic psychotherapy model. AMT was founded and formalized in psychiatric settings by music therapist Mary Priestley. The model has since been adapted for use with clients with a wide range of ages and abilities. Join Dan to explore this unique way of working and growing together.
This event is open to the public, however it is intended for mental health practitioners and wellness providers interested in learning more about music psychotherapy. Please email Dan at dan@midcoastmusicacademy.com to RSVP before March 11th to receive a link for the live presentation.
